A Florida toddler vanished from his neighborhood Friday and more than 100 volunteers joined police in a search for the 2-year-old boy.Luis Martinez disappeared without a trace Friday afternoon in the Valrico area, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
His parents reported him missing about 3:30 p.m. after he was last seen at a neighbor's house on Silver Lane south of State Road 60, according to MyFoxTampaBay.com.
Volunteers were searching areas near where Luis vanished Saturday. The little boy was wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt and red pants, MyFoxTampaBay.com said.
"We're still in a massive search for Luis," said Hillsborough Sheriff's Col. Greg Brown. "We don't have any more leads than we did last night. It could have been a variety of things that happened to him."
Brown said investigators have identified sex offenders who live within a 5-mile radius of the house where Luis disappeared, which is standard procedure in missing child cases.
Officials from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are conducting interviews at the scene and helping look for Luis.
Authorities are using dogs, horses and helicopters in the hunt for the child.
