Yes, they said on the radio that it was delayed but they are not sure of the reason ... no matter when it started, it's done and he's done. Justice has been served!
I'm personally glad he cried and voiced remorse ("Maxwell, his voice breaking and choking back tears, apologized repeatedly in the seconds before lethal drugs began flowing into his arms."), I hope the victims' families are able to continue healing and can begin to move on with their lives.

If y'all had read deep enough in the PTO ...or before it was removed..y'all would know that his final statement was NOT going to be so kind! His ..wife?? Bren talked to him and told him ..these are your last words choose them wisely. His words are not sincere...his tears are for HIMSELF!!!

"I can not imagine how he must be feeling, but i understand him being scared, which makes him very angry and defensive.. and after the childhood he's endured, his anger makes perfect sence!! but I am so afraid if that time does come, the fear and anger will take over and he won't have any control over what he says.. the problem is that, togeather we have 5 children, who adore him and look up to him, as crazy as that sounds..(he is a great father!) Joy, WHY WHY WHY must you always side with a murderer? What is so sad is that the Lopes and Bott Families have had to deal with the hate and cruelty bestowed upon their loved ones by being tortured and murdered at the hands of Maxwell and his cohort McFarland. Tonight Maxwell simply went into a permanent, peaceful sleep. How lucky is he! Too bad his victims were never awarded the lengthy appeals as well as 10 years to say goodbye to their loved ones! I was listening to execution watches Ray Hill show tonight during the execution and even Ray Hill spoke in great detail of Maxwells crimes and his mocking of his victim once he was inside the Bexar County jail. While I understand his family is going through a very terrible time tonight they have had 10 years to prepare for this event. This murderer is right where he belongs.  Maxwell never has and never would have had any regard for the law or rules - which was proven by his blatant disrespect for the TDCJ by being in possession of and using a cell phone while on death row. Persons like Maxwell will not ever change and respresent a greater risk to society if permitted to live - even behind the prison walls. Joy, kick off your shoes and step back to reality. All you people over at PTO talk about us mean nasty blood thirsty pros yet you all do the same when siding with an inmate - you praise and glorify the worst of the worst in society. Tell me that is not a direct slap in the faces of every murder victims surviving family?

Maxwells family is sufffering a loss tonight, however, the victims family went through much much worse.

It is the same thing execution after execution...     These liberal thug hugging dogooders make me ill.

Oh, I hope he put up a struggle and crapped his pants. Wouldn't that be great? He just got a small taste of the terror his victims undoubtedly felt, but apparently it was still enough to make him act like a total......  It says something for the guy that the internet was blowing up because of him, mostly from people who wanted his sorry ass dead.

As for the Maxwell Family, before they bitch about our cruelty, they should realize where the blame truly lies. Hopefully it will serve as a wake call for them, especially since Josh left behind teenage children who are no doubt already going down the wrong path. Sadly, as Pam commented earlier, we'll probably be hearing about the son somewhere in the future. He's just a couple of years younger than his "father" was when he began murdering innocent people.

May the victims rest in peace, and may the families finally have the peace they deserve.

I just talked with my Aunt (Robby Bott's mom).  She was there and got to see Maxwell die.  I will not go into details.  She just wanted to see justice carried out.  Maxwell is dead and Tess has no chance of parole until she is 65 (last I heard).  We have no hard feelings towards his family.  Unfortunately, we understand their loss, but people have to relize WE ALL have to serve the consequences of our actions.  Josh killed two people and changed the world.  He said he has change over the last 10 yrs., GOOD, but you still have to serve the consequences.   Maybe if this country started cutting off people's hands for shoplifting there would be no need for a death penalty!

I just found out recently the extent of what Maxwell did.     I must say that I'm very glad justice was carried out (pretty swiftly too).   

BTW, seems like the girlfriends never get the DP.  Maybe one day gender won't matter when it comes to handing down a death sentence.

Later today convicted killer Joshua Maxwell is expected to be executed in Huntsville. Maxwell says he doesn’t see any justice in his planned death (why? You are innocent?), but he’s ready to face the executioner. Texas Public Radio’s David Martin Davies has the story.

March 11, 2010 · Sitting behind a pane of security glass and speaking through a phone handset (the right place for this POS) Joshua Maxwell flashes a smile and seems agreeable. Except for his prison garb and many tattoos, he doesn’t look like someone who would be called a “Natural Born Killer,” (Right like ass***)

His head is shaved and his skin pale white from a decade of missing natural sunlight (That´s okey). Now he sits, just 24-hours before his scheduled execution waiting. (You have a little later a lot of time to lie)

“I kind of compare it to looking down the barrel of a gun, man. You can’t look no where else. It’s right there in your face,” said Maxwell (Hell yes you monster!).

Time is running out for the 31-year-old. He’s been on Death Row since 2001. He has exhausted all of his appeals to try to prevent or delay his execution so today at 6 p.m., he’ll be taken to the death chamber in Huntsville. Life-ending chemicals will be injected into his arm that bares the tattoo of the word “Maxwell” in giant letter (So the  Devil will find him easier).

“The last few days, I’ve been dealing with my family. I’ve been finalizing things before I go (to hell),” he said.

Maxwell was sentenced to die for the murder of Rudy Lopez – a 45- year-old Bexar County Deputy. He also murdered Robby Bott in Indiana. Maxwell admits to both murders. The killings were part of Maxwell’s cross-country crime spree with his girlfriend Tess McFarland (rot in jail) that ended in a police shootout in San Francisco. The 2000 murderous journey earned Maxwell the name “Natural Born Killer,” after the 1994 Oliver Stone film.

Maxwell rejects that title. (now ding dong dead scumbag)

“I don’t think that’s fair at all. I’ve never tried to sensationalize it as such,” said Maxwell. “I was (?? you are!) just an ignorant kid. I was raised in the streets; no respect for anything, nothing, life itself, you know? (Yes we know that you punk) A lot has changed over the last ten years. I’ve grown. I’ve grown a lot. I’m not the person that I was ten years ago.(They have only civilized you in prison)”   

Maxwell says he thinks about his victims, and he’s sorry, but he shouldn’t have to die for the crimes he committed (What else ). Yet he hopes others will be inspired by his story not to make the same mistakes he made. (Who wants to be voluntarily such an asshole like you?)

“Everything you do leaves behind consequences, you know. (A little more in Texas Dude) Everything that I’ve done has affected somebody along the way and all the carnage that I left,” Maxwell said. (His brain whas working one moment)

Maxwell will be allowed to visit with his family one last time before being taken to Huntsville for the execution. (And than the victims of this monster will rest in peace)

Joshua Maxwell's voice broke as he apologized repeatedly (naw you are a natural born killer or?) in the seconds before the state put him to death by lethal injection for the October 2000 slaying of Bexar County sheriff's Sgt. Rudy Lopes.

"The person that did that 10 years ago isn't the same person you see today," Maxwell said. "I hurt a lot of people with decisions I made. I can't be more sorry than I am right now."

He said his execution was "creating more victims." (WRONG!!)

"This is not gonna change anything," he said. (YES IT WILL YOU POS!!)

Bott's parents joined three relatives of Lopes on Thursday as witnesses in the Texas death chamber. Maxwell's son, mother and half-sister watched through a window in an adjacent room.

After Maxwell was pronounced dead, Shirley Bott turned to a state official accompanying her and showed a heart-shaped locket she wore on a chain around her neck.

"I have my son's ashes in here," she said. "I wanted him to be here." (God bless you and your family Shirley Bott)

Yes, they did it. You should ask yourself, why they did it. Because Maxwell was an ice cold killer. Not the people which follow the law are the monsters, the man you glorify was the monster and killed innocent people without any reason. You really think Texas is proud of executing people? Nope. Texas would be glad if this POS not murdered and were a good member of society but Maxwell decided not to do so. And now Texas is proud of the fact that it saves other lives which would be in danger if Maxwell would be allowed to walk out of prison or move in general population. Josh is flying yes, but round about the devil in hell. And HE cannot hurt any other human being on this planet ever again.

I'm going to post on here because if I don't get this of my chest, I will burst...

I do read the pro sites now and again, and view them in the main as nothing more than an annoying irritation, you know like a mosquito, that buzzes around relentlessly biting, they finally you manage to catch and squash the annoying little critter. But this story has sickened me. The depths of depravity some go to is disgusting.

Certain family members of a condemned inmate joined one of these flea pits, said who they were and were relentlessly attacked. Their loved one also slated to the bowels of hell. This inmate had a date and his family members were looking, presumably to find somewhere to be able to talk about their feelings leading up to his death. The members of this pro DP forum attacked and attacked the family members, like rabid pack dogs. It was truly sickening to read. As the date drew closer for this inmate to be executed the name calling and insults got worse. The family members did leave, they were driven away by the most vile disgusting show of humanity, I have ever had the horror to witness. The inmate was executed, and the pro site celebrated, your could almost here the clink of champagne glasses and the bang of party poppers. Ecstatic another human being was dead, being given his "anti crime vaccine".

This pro site claims to support and celebrate victims. The condemned man's family are also victims, yet were tormented from a site, where they were open and honest about who they were. I have seen and read some sickening things in my life, but that was honestly something from the devil's own lair, sickening beyond words.

I am not sure if this post will be allowed to remain, although completely truthful in content it may violate rules (I am genuinely not sure) however in the time it is on this board, I will be greatly interested to see if there is anyone who can defend the sickening actions of these people, taking such obvious delight in the pain and heartache of fellow human beings? No, I rephrase that, I can't call the pro site members human - sorry!

I have a couple of friends who are pro DP and asked them if they believed this was acceptable, even they said they would never touch that kind of forum with someone else's bargepole, kind of says it all really!
