Now for the real issues:  The economy. I dont care about anything else.  You have any ideas to fix the economy?  Or do you just want to participate in the conspiracy theorist games Rush uses to try and deflect attention away from the real issues that swept the Democrats in office to begin with?  Its a very simple choice.  Hes a muslim, hes a communist, hes this hes that...We dont KNOW enough about him.. I put that link there for all who knows Rush and his broadcast/publishings can see for themselves. It seems as if you really dont even know the source of where the stuff youre saying is coming. It is so similar to what I hear from Rush every single day, that the casual observer might accuse you of plagarism. But, since you really dont have a legitimate concern one way or the other in US politics, I will leave it at that, but with the advice to research what youre posting, as OTHERS are also quoting Rush and claiming his views as their own.  Its ok to use his thoughts, but at least give him the credit for his original ideas.

It IS a democratic talking point....They ALL use and have used that one... not just one or a few.  Its common well known, (and IMO, true.) I even heard LOU Dobbs of CNN, who is hardly a liberal, use a similar phrase. I feel free to use a such a well known phrase and do not claim it is my original idea, or statement.

And if you do comprehend what his ideas are please, pray tell...Now remember before you post, Im interested in YOUR ideas...   But to answer your question.... if his ideas are different than Bush, Yes that IS OK. That is what I am certainly hoping anyway.   And No, I dont care what his race is, (thats the real issue IMO) Or his religion, or lack of it, or what he did in indonesia, India, or anywhere else, or whether he inhaled..., and an electoral mandate apparently dont either.
As for the statement that Id accept socialism or even communism in preference to the last 8 years....This was a bit of exxageration. But I want no more Trickledown, and if socialism was the only other option, I would certainly be willing to discuss it.

I have always been under the assumption (assumption= ASS U ME...for JeffB that nit picks all my post that means assumption makes an ass out of you and me) that it really doesn't matter who is in the hot seat. Real CHANGE comes from your elected local officials..through your local elected state officials all the way up to your elected representatives...congressmen and senate. So all the bantering right now is a mute point. Let's just see what the next 4 years has to offer.

That's it in a nutshell Heidi.  What IS puzzling to me, is those predicting gloom and doom, and how bad things are GOING to be, certainly have short memories about the way things are NOW. wonder why how people could possibly vote as they did. The way I look at it is how people could possibly vote any other way, that is unless they like being poor, unemployed or underemployed and sick with no insurance, while the very few steal what little is left.  If this kept up, forget about socialism, it would be similar to the middle ages, where the serfdom fiefdom style kingdoms reemerge. The only "trickledown" economic policies that really work are those that FORCE such policies. People arent just going to give their employees a fair wage for work done, its human nature.  A perfect example: A wealthy REpublican I know (retired dentist with loads of real estate holdings around here) at a local restaurant  had a party of 4 to be served for lunch. After he/they finished eating, left 1 dollar...ONE Dollar. For the whole crew, after running that poor waitress ragged for an hour.    Our party of 4 left 9 bucks, plus a couple on HIS table as well. If I see that again, Im going to let him have it publicly.   A true Republican just doesnt feel that anybody else needs to make a decent living.

Your example is not about a man being a Republican, rather it is about someone being an asshole.  There is a lot of that going around.  Always has been, always will be.

Right, some are, but many of the billionaires today are just damn good at making money.  Look at Bill Gates, and Oprah.  Only thing is, they are philanthropic with the money they made.

But then look at a lot of the others.  I know quite a few people who have earned their money, become millionaires, and they are tight as hell with it.  That's how they keep it.  And you can't hardly get them to make a donation of any kind.

Oh, Ill bet that is about to change.  And it will be an ENFORCED donation. As far as the radical Republican's greatest fear...Taxes:  Ill pay my share, even if its more than Im paying now. Im not selfish, but I expect the rest of us/you to pay our/your fair share too....For a change. And yes I expect the wealthier to pay more than the less wealthy.  Sounds reasonable to me, and realistic, given the condition of the economy as it stands now.  Rush says dont tax the rich...They create Jobs...Hes right...THey create jobs for CHINESE in this economy. We are going to have to make that proposition unprofitable as well.  Imports from CHina need to be taxed to create a fair and level playing field with American and european products.
