On 10/15/2003 in Polk County, Texas, Roberts approached and demanded currency from an adult white female, of which Roberts was her live-in boyfriend. The victim refused and Roberts shot her three times in the head, causing her death. Roberts then fled the scene in the victim's son's vehicle.

My reason for supporting the death penalty? A murderer has less of a right to live than his victim and already presents a danger while incarcerated for life. They have nothing to lose when the most they can get is Life in prison without parole.

Texas inmate set to die this week loses appeal

HOUSTON — The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to review the case of a Louisiana parole violator set to die this week in Texas for the slaying of an East Texas woman at her home nine years ago.

Forty-one-year-old Donnie Lee Roberts is set for lethal injection Wednesday evening in Huntsville. He was living with 44-year-old Vicki Bowen at her home on Lake Livingston in 2003 when she was found shot twice in the head. A television and a truck were taken and Roberts had the truck when he was arrested.

He confessed to authorities to her killing and also to a slaying in Louisiana 12 years earlier.

The high court gave no explanation for its ruling Monday and merely listed Roberts' case with dozens of others in its regular weekly orders.

Can't say I'd be happy with Halloween as an execution date either...kinda creepy but then again <shrugs> it's past time for him meet his maker. One day is as good as the next as long as it happens.
