Thank God for the Brits

I am so grateful to the Brits for having managed to get the Olympic games. Paris came second and in my mind, that was far too close. Both countries have a huge Muslim population of which many see the Games as an excellent opportunity to cause mayhem. The UK seems to have already turned the Games into farce as the security has failed completely... no doubt some deal with a shady contractor but loads of money into someone's private pocket. I fear that this is just the start and that there will be a serious atrocity. How mad is it to hold such an event when a good slice of the population want it to fail?

On top of all that, I understand that the taxpayers are having to carry most of the burden.

I have no time for the Olympic hype going on over here just now.  Every TV advert manages to mention their 'Proud Sponsership ' of the London Olympics.

I just hope I am not alone in my sentiments. ;)

Seems some time around 1787 they decided to send their prison overflow on a little boat voyage finally arriving at Port Jackson on 26 Jan 1788!! The rest as they say is history

I am English however my kids were all born in Inverness,Scotland and regardless of nationality i am  bored (and,as i am funding these games being a tax payer) potless now thanks to the waste of money spent on them.I am dissaponted in the goverment,we will have more troops in London for the games than we'll have in Iraq and our streets will still be full of the homeless however, there has been built an olympic village to house all of the atheletes in...says it all really  :'(

I was up in Invergordon for a weeks holiday at the beginning of July.  God's own country, but I am coverd in Midge bites. ;)

Little off topic from the Olympic games ... but since the subject is about the Brits, they do a better job than the USA taxing their land based fighter jets.

Well, I thought the Games were going to be a farce but frankly I think they were better than Peking. Congratulations to the Brits and also for their medal success. I know we could not have done better in France.
