I could do it if it paid well, but not for the rest of my life.

My reason for supporting the death penalty? A murderer has less of a right to live than his victim and already presents a danger while incarcerated for life. They have nothing to lose when the most they can get is Life in prison without parole.

I wouldn't think of it as a job. More like a service for the greater good.

And with that comment I have became the PTO's most hated  8)

I could execute 100 murdering scum.  Sit behind a wall not having to see their face just push a plunger. Go home. Easy. Now, if i was a real executioner i would require my own tools and i decide how they exit. That would be my sacrafice. You may want to close the curtain. Just saying. Honestly, though why does another human have to decide. In the year. 2000 robots can push the plunger.

I have worked in animal shelters where we had to decide daily what dogs and cats were suitable for rehoming and what ones were to get the green dream..... Every single day broke my heart... to PTS (as we call Putting To Sleep in the the shelter world) worthless human POS I would have no problem with!!!

Old saying "the more I get to know dogs, the more I hate the human race"
I have the best job in the world. I work all day as a dog trainer, helping people understand that their dog responds to positive reward based training, and that we can find a way to make your relationship with you dog fun and enjoyable for the BOTH of you!!! I train people to train dogs to love life!!!!

I'm pretty sure I could do it if someone else was to insert the needle.

I'm a woosie when giving a kitty sub Q when they are awake.  If they are sleeping, I have no problem giving them their shots or sub Q fluids.

That's me in the black with the needle!  ewwww

Some people say I’m a horrible person, but it’s not true!  I have the heart of an innocent girl….in a jar, on my desk

Victims have a dignitary interest in justice and vindication without interminable delay caused by guilty prisoners’ attempts to stave off punishment.

I am a great stick...even out of practice...This would not be a problem for me! Would need a little IV training, but I can find a vein no problem! No Botches with me...No chance, no stick

I COULD but it's not something I'd particularly enjoy.  And I'm sure it wouldn't pay enough to make it worthwhile. For sure being an executioner is a thankless job. You're killing someone, regardless of their crimes. Try going home to your family after that without being somehow affected. It's easy to sit on the sideline and say that we'd enjoy it, speaking from an emotional POV. I'd imagine that it's an entirely different story if/when you're the one whose throwing the switch. And if the person doing it is emotionally involved and 'enjoys' the act of killing murderers, then he shouldn't be in that position for professional and ethical reasons. I'd be willing to bet most executioners don't love what they do, but it's something that needs to be done. And thank God they're there to do it.
