Took it with a digital camera, and my telescope reflecting the image in a shadow box!

Very nice...I used to teach astronomy!  ;)  Also interested in the weather beaten paint and maritime artifacts on the garage...are you near the coast?

Somers Point NJ..about 1-3 miles from the coast ...depends how you judge it!

27 foot dual inboard boat..that is why Pameeee and me go back and forth about the stripers (Striped Bass)

Over a six-hour period on June 5-6 2012, the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) collected images in many wavelengths of one of the rarest predictable solar events: the transit of Venus across the face of the sun. These transits occur in pairs eight years apart that are separated from each other by 105 or 121 years. The last transit was in 2004 and the next will not happen until 2117.

Where should we meet for the next transit of Venus?  8)

Super cool. I stared directly at the sun. Now there is permanent dot burned into my retina every where i look.

To look at the sun for any event you need a number 14 welder's glass or higher...the sun was really bright that day so there was no way to directly view it without projecting the image for me. I had to peek just to get the telescope correctly positioned, and Ouch.

I hope your dot goes away J-dog! You should search around the net, or go to the Doctor to see if there is anything you can do!
