Children gone wrong

So yesterday I was wondering why my eldest daughter has not called in some time. Well I was being an ass and looked into the Michigan DOC web site and found out why. Turns out my baby girl is doing 3 years for drug and a gun charge. She has been in for over 6 months and no one bothered to let me know. I did find out where she is and sent out a letter with a few bucks to help out. The prison is only about 15 miles from my house so I should be able to go visit her at times.
  I also found out you can no longer send money to the pen you have to use a service called jpay but you are able to send email as well. Not sure how all of this came about but I do hope she learns from it or likes the food very well cause she will go right back.  KK Im done venting.

The worst fear of any parent. I am so sorry to hear this. Let us just hope that she does indeed learn.

Oh geez Sean, I'm sorry to hear this.  No, you were not being an ass looking on the MI DOC website.  You, as a parent, needed to look where your gut instinct told you to look. 

There are really a lot of other places you could have found her that are much worse, say the morgue or in a hospital.  Hopefully she is learning her lesson and on a 3 yr charge, should be out in about a year.

Please vent anytime - you know we are all here for you.

Thanks everyone. I am thinking maybe I should post on PTO to see if I can get rich off of some of the assnecks over there. Her problem is the gun charge so she will have to do all 3 years on that one.

So sorry Seany you are going through this  .  Hopefully your daughter will learn and use this experience as a reminder to not break the law.  Your sense of humor will help pull you through during the darker times.

Sorry you are going through this.  That is as tough on the parent as it is on the child.  Sometimes, no matter how well they are raised, they can still fall in with the wrong company and go wrong.  Let's hope she has learned from this experience and never wants to go back to prison.

I'm so sorry to hear this, sometimes Jail is the only thing that will wake these kids up. At least it will be safer than living with drugs and guns. Keep your chin up, your humor in tact and your love for her open. We're all here for you.
