I suspect that the new posters AsP and legalimmigrant are one of the same.

...and certainly not Frau (Fraulein?) Hommell, I would expect her to know how to spell.  Just another ANTI mucker trying to stir the pot...he/she/it will soon go the way of max and maiken.

I have corressponded with Genghis Gran and she might be straight up so for now I am cutting her some slack. I am still not so sure though.

A Colorado woman who in 1976 accused David Alan Gore of sexually assaulting her at gunpoint in a Florida orange grove is urging state officials to stop the condemned serial killer's Thursday execution for the murder of a 17-year-old girl.
 
VERO BEACH, Fla. - Angela Hommell, 56, a German native who lives in Colorado Springs, Colo., calls herself a rape survivor. And despite the trauma and death threats she says she endured July 21, 1976 after being abducted by Gore and his cousin Fred Waterfield, she said she's distraught over Gore's scheduled execution
 
"I don't believe in the death penalty. I'm Roman Catholic and in Germany we think the death penalty is barbaric," Hommell said during a March interview with Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers.   

We are all on the same side here.

I don't know about the rest of the good folks here but she is definitely not on my side.

OK, I totally understand what you are saying, however, I do not now and never will understand verbally being mean to a victim of violent crime, regardless of their views on the death penalty. We have other members here who get our respect and they do not believe in executions, why should this woman be any different? Simply because she is a German native, living in the US, does that mean she should change her own personal views, in my opinion, NO.

By the way, can anyone explain why Gore and Waterfield were never charged in this case?

Tom, there is a great deal of reason and compassion on this board so it is extremely unhelpful to post as though you are some scolding school teacher. You just manage to get folks' backs up.

Comments concerning the views of Angela Hommell were made in context and I for one do not withdraw mine. She has effectlively made three posts without introducing herself as is normal for serious members.  I would for one, welcome her posts in a more appropriate thread and I hope that she does so.

I would really like to understand how she feels distraught (not Germany) that Gore has been executed despite his heinous crimes. It is in sharp contrast to my wish that the rapist and murderer of my adopted daughter be executed!

The cousins said the sex was consensual and they were never charged.
