But then I can also see that this piece of scum souldn't be allowed to spend any more time on this earth and also at the tax payers expence ----- So Rot In Hell Scumbag  >:(

Quite honestly. I don't believe any of them would care. It takes someone without a soul to murder someone that young. Those without souls can't have remorse, they only can fake it.
My reason for supporting the death penalty? A murderer has less of a right to live than his victim and already presents a danger while incarcerated for life. They have nothing to lose when the most they can get is Life in prison without parole.

Alabama death row inmate set to die Thursday

The Associated Press

Published: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 5:40 p.m.
Last Modified: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 5:40 p.m.

An Alabama death row inmate who has refused to pursue appeals is scheduled to be executed at 6 p.m. Thursday at Holman Prison in Atmore.

Deputy Attorney General Clay Crenshaw said Wednesday that no last minute appeals had been filed with about 24 hours remaining before the scheduled execution of 38-year-old Christopher Johnson of Atmore.

Johnson refused to pursue appeals in his case and filed court papers in May saying he didn't want anyone to go to court on his behalf.

Johnson was convicted of killing his 6-month-old son, Elias Ocean Johnson, at the family's home in Atmore in February 2005 Johnson represented himself during part of his trial and testified he hit and suffocated his son because he hated his wife and didn't want to be near her.

Well as Jerry Garcia used to sing..."Alabama Get Away, Get Away" So long scumbag!
Vengence is mine saith the Lord...who are we to question the instruments used to carry it out?

Alabama set to execute man for 2005 death of his infant son

By Kelli Dugan

MOBILE, Ala | Thu Oct 20, 2011 9:20am EDT

(Editing by Colleen Jenkins and Jerry Norton)

(Reuters) - An Alabama man who has spent just four years on death row for the suffocation and beating death of his infant son is set to die by lethal injection on Thursday.

The execution of Christopher Thomas Johnson, 39, is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time at the Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore.

Johnson made the rare move of pleading guilty to capital murder in the 2005 death of his 6-month-old son Elias Ocean Johnson. The inmate requested the death penalty, which was granted in February 2007, and waived all appellate and intervention measures on his behalf.

One law professor said Johnson's brief stay on death row is unusual and could possibly be among the shortest on record nationwide.

Donald Q. Cochran, a former prosecutor and a professor at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, said the only other case he could recall following such an abrupt timeline was that of confessed Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

McVeigh was executed in 2001, six years after committing his crime.

According to the Death Penalty Information Center, the average time an inmate spends on death row awaiting execution is 14 years, with many waiting longer than 20 years.

Johnson would be the sixth inmate executed in Alabama this year and the 38th put to death nationwide in 2011.

Johnson represented himself at trial. He testified he killed his son because "he hated his wife, didn't want to be near her and didn't want to worry about her threats of putting him in jail for alimony or child support," according to documents filed by the state Attorney General's Office.

Johnson offered no mitigating circumstances for his crime, and the trial court found the "the heinous, atrocious and cruel" nature of the murder outweighed any justifications that could have been offered, records show.

According to court documents, Johnson tried to quiet Elias while his wife slept.

After several unsuccessful attempts in the early morning hours, he "laid on top of Elias, covered Elias' mouth with his hand for extended periods of time, and forced his fingers into the child's mouth and down his throat to stop the crying." He also struck the child with his hand.

When the child's mother awoke, Elias was unresponsive and cold to the touch.

The forensic pathologist who performed Elias' autopsy testified during the trial that the infant suffered at least 85 separate injuries. Suffocation and head trauma were cited as the causes of death.

In a statement issued by Project Hope to Abolish the Death Penalty, executive director Esther Brown said even though the organization respects Johnson's right to have the death penalty imposed, they questioned his motives.

"We are a prisoner organization and therefore respect a prisoner's wishes. Nevertheless, we question Mr. Johnson's mental stability, which would allow him to make this kind of decision," Brown said.

This POS reminds me of what I have read about wilingham.  No remorse.  No heart.  No soul.

Nothing but a complete and total loser that killed a child.

Here's to your new career as compost.

Death row inmate Christopher Johnson eats last meal 2 hours before scheduled execution

Published: Thursday, October 20, 2011, 4:31 PM

HOLMAN PRISON, Alabama -- Approximately two hours before his scheduled execution at 6 p.m., Christopher Thomas Johnson ate his last meal, according to Brian Corbett, spokesperson for the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Johnson was convicted of killing his 6-month-old son, Elias Ocean Johnson, at the family's home in Atmore in February, 2005.

He has been on death row at Holman Prison since February 2007, said Corbett.

For breakfast on what was scheduled to be his final day, Johnson had eggs, grits, and biscuits, then skipped lunch in lieu of the Thursday dinner.

From food supplies available in the prison cafeteria, said Corbett, Johnson chose a turkey bologna sandwich with tomatoes and cheese, french fries, and an orange drink.

In a holding cell near the execution chamber, Johnson had extended visiting hours for the day, joined by his brother, Thomas Eugene Lagos, according to Corbett.

From a vending machine in the area, said Corbett, Johnson got a Reese's Cup, pretzels, and grape Sunkist drink.

As of 4 p.m., Johnson had not yet been visited by any spiritual advisor, said Corbett.

Since lethal injection became the mode of execution in 2002, replacing electrocution, said Corbett, 30 inmates have been executed in that manner.

Johnson would be the 31st.

So far in 2011, there have been five executions at Holman, said Corbett.

US man executed for 6-month-old son's slaying
(AP) – 12 minutes ago

ATMORE, Alabama (AP) — A man in the state of Alabama has been executed for killing his infant son in February 2005.

Authorities say Christopher Johnson was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m. local time Thursday after receiving a lethal injection at Holman prison. The 38-year-old man, when asked if he had any last words, said only: "Game over."

Johnson was convicted in the death of his 6-month-old son, Elias Ocean Johnson, at their home. He testified that he killed and suffocated his son because he hated his wife and didn't want to be near her.

Johnson was the sixth person executed in Alabama this year and the fourth to die since the state changed one of the drugs in its lethal injection from sodium thiopental to pentobarbital — owing to a nationwide shortage of sodium thiopental.

After a long silence, Lagos spoke aloud: “He’s done. He paid his price.”

Game over, convicted baby killer executed

Published 10:23pm Thursday, October 20, 2011

By Blake Bell

“Game over.”

Those were the last words spoken by convicted baby killer Christopher Thomas Johnson before he was put to death by lethal injection Thursday night at Holman Correctional Facility.

Johnson’s death sentence was handed down after he pled guilty to the brutal 2005 murder of his six-month-old son, Elias Ocean Johnson.

Johnson initially pled not guilty to the charges, but changed his plea to guilty after firing his public defenders just prior to the closing arguments in his 2006 trial, in order to represent himself.  Johnson subsequently took the stand, where he confessed to beating his son to death at their home in Atmore.

Despite a statement by Johnson, announcing he did not plan to appeal his sentence, the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals ruled on the case due to the legal obligations. Their decision found Johnson mentally competent, and upheld the death sentence he said he wanted to receive.

Thursday night, at 5:57 p.m., Johnson received exactly what he asked for.

Johnson’s brother, Thomas Eugene Lagos, was the only family member present for the execution. Bathed in the dull red light of Holman Prison’s observation room C, Lagos touched the glass moments prior to the injection, while signing “I love you” to his condemned brother.

“That’s the second one. Cardiac arrest,” Lagos said, almost to himself, as the doses of lethal chemicals caused Johnson to mildly twitch.

“There goes the third one.  It’s over,” Lagos said at 6 p.m., as Johnson became completely still.

Eluding to the idea his brother had been anticipating his punishment during his-six year stay on death row, Lagos said “he’s been waiting on us for a long time.”

For the complete story on the Johnson execution, see the Saturday edition of The Atmore Advance.

Justice served :( Honor and Peace for Baby Elias Ocean :-* :-* God bless you little angel :'( :-*

Yes, we are all agree, it is GAME OVER :( Welcome to Hell rubbish Johnson... >:( :D :P
