I wonder if he over the years had talked himself into the belief he was actually innocent. If so he also must have blocked out all the information he oterhwise must have known to be in the trial transcripts and the information about the case. I doubt I have ever seen a case with such a massive, overwhelming evidence against the offender in it. Even his own brother and son saw him doing it!

I hope his poor son will be able to somehow move on with his live after such a tragic and traumatic childhood
