Mark Anthony Stroman - Texas - 7/20/11

An execution date has been set for Mark Anthony Stroman.  We were informed the date was set for July 17, 2011 but since that is a Sunday I am thinking I heard it wrong, so maybe it is the 7th?  I will update as soon as I confirm the exact date but anyway, Stroman does in fact have a date of execution set for early summer.

His Crime: On April 5, 2002, Mark Stroman, a 32-year-old stonecutter from Dallas, entered Texas’s death row for the murder of Vasudev Patel, an Indian immigrant and gas station owner in Mesquite, TX. Patel was Stroman’s third and final victim. In the three weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks, Stroman also shot and killed Waqar Hasan, a Pakistani immigrant in Dallas, and partially blinded a gas station attendant from Bangladesh in the erroneous belief all three men were Arabs. The press labeled the murders Texas's first post 9/11 hate crime. Stroman himself claimed that “blinded by rage,” he killed to avenge the United States.

Thanks Pam... I'm especially pleased about this one. I sincerely hope that this is a serious date, this man makes me ill. I do understand dislike and hatred very well, but when I'm reading things and maybe sometimes I may not agree, I just don't comment because NZ is just dramatically different. I mean, we have 4 Million people, I just can't even have perspective. The debate on here is a fantastic learning thing for me because it's erudite, and challenging.

This guy is a moron by comparison and an unfair representation of an American for the world to consider. I hope his final words are more intelligible than his website musings. I look forward to reading his next few blogs.

Without being seen as too PC, he did in fact kill two Muslims. The reality is that this sort of crime is going to increase enormously both in the USA and Europe.

I understand what Frenchy is saying.  The targeted victims were Muslims...Targets simply because of what they stand for, not who they are.  Frenchy is saying attacks on muslims is gonna be more prevalent in the US and Europe.  Its simple to see what was being said.
