License to Kill is the title of the 16th Bond movie.  You and I need not apply so no sense running to the nearest DMV office.  But if you commit a heinous crime in a state without the death penalty and get sentenced to life without parole you will get one from the state automatically upon conviction.  From this point on, you can kill all you want and nothing will happen to you.

At least not by any action of the state.  Other inmates may look less kindly at such anti-social behavior and dispense their kind of justice by summarily executing the offender .  In that sense all fifty States have death penalty.

If there is at least one liberal here, please tell me where I am wrong.   If you are one, or can pretend to be one, please take your best swing at this.

Or try to answer this very simple question:  How would you keep a no-parole lifer from murdering again?

I do admit that this is my favorite question when debating the death penalty with liberals as it never failed to shut them up.

Yes they do over there...and this is not a topic for U.S. Death Penalty Discussion..This needs it's own thread in off topic..I will call it...PTO Memorial Funnies!

Thanks.  I stand corrected.]

We should be in awe of the liberals’ creativity and their ability to see things that we just overlooked in our blind insensitivity.  How could we possibly not know of all these reasons why should get rid of death penalty.  To the best of my recollection,  the enlightened ones claim that:

1.  It doesn’t bring closure.  They never explain why the families of the victims hug the prosecutors after the death penalty is imposed by the presiding judge.  It must be a hug-a-prosecutor day.

2.  It doesn’t bring the victim back.  And the liberals’ favorite replacement, life without parole, of course does.  Sorry I missed that.

3.  It costs too much.  This logic reminds me of a trial where a punk who killed his parents asks for leniency because he is an orphan.  Translation:  you, liberal morons, caused this by your insistence on the endless appeals and now you are complaining about high cost?

4.  All life is precious.  You should have mentioned this to you clients before they decided to do what landed them on a gurney.  This is an opportunity to ask a liberal if he or she would like to view a partial birth abortion.

5.  If we execute them we are like them.  And, again, if we throw them in for life than we are somehow not.  I guess because this form of punishment has the liberals’ blessing.  For now.

6.  It doesn’t deter.  I am willing to bet my paycheck against a cup of coffee that Booby and Kenny got the message and won’t do it again.  Also, try to convince a liberal to take a pound of some illegal stuff into Singapore.  My bet is he will refuse.  Ask him why.

7.  Texas has the highest number of executions and murders.  Liberals’ conclusion:  executions cause murders.  Now we are finally getting somewhere; stop executions and the murders will just go away.

8.  It is a form of vengeance.  It is a side product, not the objective.  I am so sorry I feel that way.

9.  It may result in an innocent man being executed.   First, it didn’t happen.  Second, define “innocent”.  Their definition may be different than ours.  Remember “what is is”? Finally, nothing is perfect.  Extending this concept to absurdity we should close all hospitals because many people die there due to misdiagnosis, all the restaurants because some died from food poisoning, etc.  Would I want to be the one?  Of course not!.  This why I live like I am going to apply for sainthood.  And my rap sheet has two or three speeding tickets.

10.  We execute a changed man who now writes poems.  This one is the twin brother of the “It costs too much”.  You liberals caused him to be a changed man because of the endless appeals you made it impossible to execute the sob before he developed his writing skills.

Also, you liberals made sure that during the trial all the finer points that would allow the jury to see clearly what he is - like a convicted rapist, child molester, and a murderer - were suppressed as prejudicial.  All of a sudden his poems are not and should be entered as Exhibits A, B and C during the commutation hearing.

I could go on like this for much longer as the liberals are a goldmine in this respect.    I will leave some room for others to make a contribution to the list.  Time for O’Reilly.

A warning:  If you just finished your dinner you may want to stop reading right now or you are running a chance of throwing up.  What I am not certain of is what in my post may cause this adverse stomach reaction:  the tributes to Kenny or what Kenny did while running around unsupervised.

Kenny died today in Ohio.  Predictably, he is already sorely missed by some.  Their deep affection was expressed so eloquently in tributes to Kenny even before his veinless body had a chance to cool down to the room temperature.   Some samples:

Rest in Peace Kenneth. Fly free now...

Thoughts are with all involved!!

RIP Kenneth.......So sad, but at the same time he was right, paroled to heaven, it gives me goose bumps.

Rest in peace Ken. Now you are free.

Biros admitted to killing Tami Engstrom during February 1991 in a fit of rage. Biros then cut up the body and spread various parts over a wide territory encompassing portions of northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania.

Biros was convicted of aggravated murder, attempted rape, aggravated robbery and felonious sexual penetration and sentenced to death.

Next.

on: December 08, 2009, 05:03:39 AM 545 Off Topic / Off Topic - Anything / Arguing with liberals and stupid things they say...

As I stated when I introduced myself, one activity I enjoy is arguing with liberals.  Sometimes it’s actually as easy as shooting fish in a barrel or arm wrestling with a 5-year old.  They know it and that is why they censor their websites the way do.   It doesn’t feel good but somebody has to do this dirty job because there is too much at stake.

Liberals must be challenged because they are dangerous to our lifestyles and the survival of this republic.  If you think I am exaggerating just look at our runaway government spending with more to come.  If we as a country will actually go bankrupt - by the accounting standards we already are - it will be because of them and their feel good programs and affinity for all things we find repugnant.  But I am digressing.

When it comes to the death penalty and how it is applied in the US their position reveals who they are.  Their reckless and deliberate disregard for the suffering they bring to the victim’s families is what causes me to actually hate them.  On other issues I find them annoying, sometimes even amusing but when they lovingly talk about a murderer while at the same time affirmatively and with full premeditation refuse to acknowledge a child like Brandon or Sarah (I apologize to their families for re-opening their wounds again) my blood starts boiling.  This is when I experience raw hate, a feeling I should be ashamed of.

Their argument that some convicts are too retarded to be executed - sure let’s send them to Harvard and then kill them - can be used against them by claiming that being a liberal is birth defect.  A hardcore liberal - a person with the logical side of the brain underdeveloped - is just incapable of linear reasoning:  A leads to B, B is for bad for me so I will not do A.  This simple logic, a cornerstone of any civilized society, is summarily rejected by the liberals and no amount research data can change that.  As intellectually deficient and morally weak people they naturally sympathize with others like them: the prisoners.

Thanks for letting me vent.  I have to go work now so that my taxes can pay for the health care for the dp inmates and their, of course, innocent friends elsewhere.

There is no symmetry between us and the pro prisoner liberals.  Nothing would please me more than to see all crime gone, death rows closed, and this forum go out of existence.  The liberals want to create dependencies and "victims" to justify their activities.  The best examples are the homeless, prisoners, illegal aliens, kids that speak only Spanish, etc.  Imagine no homeless, no prisoners, no illegals, everybody speaks English, and the liberals are without an agenda.

They are also, as your son said, really stupid in their tactics.  Before I got banned, I told them to drop that "tribute" bit because it alienates everybody.  In a way I tried to give them a good piece of advice.   No, I didn't get a thank you.

The single best way to get rid of death penalty is by its effective application.   Somehow the liberals don't want to discuss Singapore, Malaysia and other places where dp works like a charm.

This not exactly on the subject of this thread but I just wanted to say my piece.

on: December 07, 2009, 05:04:35 AM 547 Forum Rules and Information / Introductions / I am new here, my username is 14dp and...

...you can safely assume I am for the death penalty.   I immigrated to the US in 1967 and after my first daughter was born in 1973 my wife and I switched to English - the greatest language on earth - and never looked back.  I mentioned this to excuse any future spelling or style offenses.  My second daughter is an attorney.  I wanted to be one - a prosecutor to be specific - but life wasn't kind to me in this department so I became an engineer to start making a living immediately upon my arrival here.  I have two grandaughters.  I also own a 9-mm Beretta which is loaded and ready for a 2am visit by persons I didn't invite.

My hobbies:  arguing with liberals and listening to Bach.

My favorite US President:  Truman.  The surest way to piss me off:  foreigners telling me that the US is a bad country.  I don't ever want to hear this.

PS: This is for Anne from Belgium:  Forgive me if in the future I say something about Europe that is not complementary.  Don't take it personally.

Great logic, 14dp!  Welcome to the forum.  I look forward to more of your posts. :-* :-*

Thanks.  This forum restored my faith in the sanity of mankind.

I joined another forum where only the prisoners but not the victims deserve help and attention.   I was doing fine for a couple of days asking questions and trying to inform until I found a thread paying tribute to the creeps that were executed.   One of them they paid tribute to was "Bobby" Woods who ended 11-year-old Sarah's life.  (I used quotes because Bobby should be used referring to a nice boy but not to this vermin).  Mercifully, "Bobby" was put down in Huntsville on December 3.   When asked if Sarah was included in the thoughts of the poster who paid tribute to Bobby, I was warned and my post deleted.

This did it for me.  I always knew being a liberal is a birth defect but I didn't know that they can be so stupid.  As a result I got myself banned for life by posting this:

"After my brief encounter with your forum I have no intention of wasting my time here. The ultimate test you have failed miserably was the removal of my thread for Sarah, the girl who on April 30, 1997, instead clutching her teddy bear was clutching her bleeding throat while trying in her last moments to say Mommy but couldn't.

Instead, an idiot pays tribute to her rapist and murderer and says that his thoughts are with Bobby and all "involved". For a fleeting moment I thought that Sarah was "involved" so I asked. Predictably, she was not.

Bobby's family is most likely better than you, your friends here and your stupid rules. They most likely put flowers and a little stuffed animal on Sarah's grave and, like me, cried. I tried to do something similar here but was denied the privilege.

I will wear being banned here with pride. "

Ok, you´re some kind of liberal JT. ;-)

But murders which are excessively brutal and wantonly cruel

In my eyes every murder is excessivly brutal and wantonly cruel. The result is every time that a life had been taken. So the price for this murder should be the DP. if the victim had been especially helpless like a child, handicaped or elderly it´s from a moral stance especialy despicable, but "technically" it´s a murder. You can´t punish the murderer harder than taking his life.

Michael

But you can make the process a lot swifter just like in Singapore for drug trafficking where the entire cycle from the arrest to execution usually takes two years .  This would truly be the deterrent that the dp opponents claim the dp does not have in the US.  When a child is the victim all that bs about being provoked, acting in self-defense, etc. would not apply.

The problem we have here is that the executions are rare and so delayed that the connection between the crime and the punishment is severed allowing the liberal loons to claim that the guy about to be executed is not the same person.

Justice served for Sarah and her family  :-* Rest in peace little girl  :-*

Anne

This case hit the nerve with me more than any other.  Anne, you have expressed the feelings I also did a moment ago in the forum to remember the victims.   I am so outraged that I have special message for "Bobby":  I will try to go to hell where you are now.  I will find you and kill you again, you pos.  And it will be a lot less pleasant than falling asleep in Huntsville.

on: December 06, 2009, 03:24:19 PM 551 Victims and Victim Related / Remembrance and Support / In Memory of Sarah Patterson

Bobby Wayne Woods, 44, was executed by lethal injection on 3 December
2009 in Huntsville, Texas for the abduction and murder of his
ex-girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter, Sarah.

Sarah died on April 30, 1997.   Instead of hugging her favorite teddy bear she clutched her bleeding throat while trying to say Mommy but couldn't.  I didn't know Sarah when she was alive.   I still don't know much but I will never forget her.  Rest in Peace, my dear.
