Unbelievable. Taling 11 lives and escaping the DP with a weak excuse.  >:(

Michael

Because it's in Chicago, the most corrupt one-party city in the US.  And Chicago is in Illinois, the most disgusting state of the Union.  No Jessica law, no conceal carry, one governor in a federal pen, another one getting ready to join.  Highest gas prices in the nation, including Hawaii plus highest sales tax.  The murder rate in Chicago is three times that of NY city because to deploy police in the high crime rate areas would not be PC.  That's what this place is about.

This trial validates another of my beefs.  The defendant looked "normal".  Sure, because his lawyers tried evrything possible to bs the jury by giving him a bath and a suit plus the instructions how to wear it.  In my courtroom he would be wearing the same smelly stuff he did when commiting his 11 murders.  This includes the gang attire, the hair, the cap worn backwards, the earings,  I would even force him to walk the way he did then.   None of this GQ boy-next-door crap.

The parole system needs to be studied and the lines tightened.  Too man felons commit criminal acts until they are on death row.  LWOP doesn't seem to mean much to parole boards!

Guys, you are getting soft!  Paroles should be only for non-violent offenders.  In my opinion, once a creep is convicted of a violent crime where someone got hurt he or she is history, LWOP or dp.   Personally, I make no distinction between attempted murder and murder.  The fact that the victim was lucky enough to survive because the murderer was incompetent makes no difference to me.  The mf is going down.

on: December 20, 2009, 08:31:45 AM 529 General Crime / U.S. Crime Related News / Re: IL Jury Rejects Death Sentence For Serial Killer Andre Crawford Receives LWO

Somebody clearly lied under oath during voir dire.

This is why I will never ever be a juror.   Average person is a moron.  Sitting next to one as a juror is not in my plans.  This is also why I don't vote.

Criminal cases should be decided by a panel of three professional judges as they would be less likely to fall for a sob story about a rough childhood.  They heard it all.  Better yet, the dp should be imposed automatically upon conviction for certain crimes like in this case

BTW, it must be something in the water that makes juries here stupid, dp-wise.   The Brown's Chicken trials ended up the same way:  some lonely loon objected to the dp.   I live in Palatine and I pass every day the site where the restaurant was - it has been demolished since.

Call me a sexist pig if you want but most boys would like to be molested by a girl.   I would have burst out laughing hearing that defendant had bad childhood because he was molested by a girl.

So, um, Huckabee's a liberal?

If you want to call him a compassionate conservative, it's OK with me.  Even Jane Fonda is a conservative in her private life because she knows how to count her money.  Nobody is 100% anything.  Huckabee is a reason why we should never elect an ex-priest or preacher to be a governor or the President because we would never know if his goal is to serve his god or the people who elected him.  For the president of the US I want the meanest sob who will be feared abroad.  Instead, we got a nice guy who travels the world to be liked and to apologize.   Huckabee would be the same.   Would Huckabee drop a couple of nukes in 1945?

on: December 19, 2009, 10:05:10 AM 531 General Death Penalty / Recidivism - why the Death Penalty Works / Re: Huckabee Lesson Is, Execution Beats Pardons

Nice try but I am not buying it.  Without proof I claim that he did it because of his religious background.  Before we get to releasing violent criminals, we can save money by reducing the sentences for check kiting, shoplifting, drug possesion, etc and closing our borders.  30% of the prisoners are illegal aliens.

I know I am being repetitious, but if you look long enough you will find liberals and their criminal stupidity as a root cause of all evil.  There is a saying: follow the money.  Where money is involved, we are dealing with smart people - even the crooks - we can reason with.  Liberals are worse.  We can better deal with the terrorists but we can't with the liberals because they are genetically stupid and proud of it.

The state of Alabama, this jury and the judge make me proud to be an American.  Unfortunately, it is after a boy lost his life to cause me to feel this way.  Mommy Dearest is next.  To me she is more guilty because she is the mother of the child.  Pity we can't execute them twice.

Let's see what she can be charged with:
1.  Felony murder.
2.  Accessory after the fact.
3.  Obstruction of justice.
4.  Filing false police report.
5.  Child neglect.

I will settle for number 1.  Good enough for me to strap her to a gurney.

His obituary if anyone is interested in looking at it!

http://obits.courierpress.com/obituaries/courierpress/obituary.aspx?n=matthew-eric-wrinkles&pid=137386970

A more correct version:  Mr. Wrinkles, a widower, died form a drug overdose at a state facility...

I mean no disrespect to the victims' families but after watching him and his kids on Oprah's show I am more than ever against allowing families to take part in the impact phase of the trials as trials are legal procedures, not an opportunity to listen to the obvious or to heal.  As a juror I would be unmoved by whatever the victim's familiy has to say - whether for executing or not - as legal proceedings are supposed be based on the facts and the applicable laws, not emotions.  Many well-intentioned people think that the state serves the victim's family when it prosecutes.  The offense is against the people of the state, the family included.   In many cases, the victim's familiy may forgive but I as a juror would not be influenced but this act of charity.

on: December 16, 2009, 03:03:02 PM 534 General Death Penalty / U.S. Death Penalty Discussion / Re: A HYBRISTOPHILIAC MASQUERADING AS AN ANTI DEATH PENALTY ACTIVIST?

So some women want a relationship with dr convicts.  OK, I got it.  The sick part is that our judicial system allows it.  Where in the Constitution does is say that the dr inmates are entitled to anything beyond being able to communicate with their lawyers and being kept alive until executed.   This nonsense is yet another reason why I should be in charge of everything.

Not exactly on the subject, but I would be open to discuss abolishing the death penalty if we could make our prisons the hell they should be.  After such a discussion I would still want the dp but at least we could have a reasonable conversation before I would say dp stays.

on: December 16, 2009, 12:59:46 PM 535 General Death Penalty / U.S. Death Penalty Discussion / Re: The death penalty appropriate startin at what age?

On my island parents would be criminally liable only if they knew about their kid's plan to commit a felony and did nothing.  When "children" murder it's partially society's fault because we collectively put the parents into a straight jacket.  You spank a kid and you can lose your parental rights.

Schools teach them things that make us cringe.  Self esteem, whatever the hell that is, is ahead of the three Rs and everything else.  Prayers are out, condoms are in.  A kid cannot bring aspirin to school but an abortion without parental notification - hey no problem.   This is what we became.

on: December 13, 2009, 07:30:06 AM 536 General Death Penalty / U.S. Death Penalty Discussion / Re: The death penalty appropriate startin at what age?

My thoughts are that if they are old enough to commit murder, they are old enough to pay the price for it.

This is too simplistic and provides ammunintion to the anti dp arguments.   Even in the adult world, not all murderers get dp.  That happens when special circumstances are present:  rape, kidnapping, a robbery with a deadly weapon, multiple murders, when the victim is an officer, etc.

In my example the gangbangers typically show a pattern of conduct indicating that murderer is just another means in their tool box to facilitate drug distribution.  Most juries would not hesitate to give 17-year-old "kids" like this the dp.   Try to convince that jury to sentence a 12-year boy he killed his mother because she wouldn't let him go to a summer camp.    Clearly a case of murder by any adult standard.

on: December 12, 2009, 11:03:19 AM 537 General Death Penalty / U.S. Death Penalty Discussion / Re: The death penalty appropriate startin at what age?

The US Supreme Court ruling setting the minimum age at 18 is in my opinion as contrived and without any constitutional basis as Roe vs. Wade about abortion.  To give 18-year-old minus one day gangbangers with Uzis a pass because they are "children" is insanity.   Did you notice how they are groomed for the trial?  Gone are the gang jackets, the pants with the crotch somewhere close to the knees.  Instead, probably for the first time, they look like the models straight from a photoshoot for GQ.

On my island they would be forced to wear and look exactly how they did at the time when they murdered a couple of kids on the way to school.  That way fewer gullible jurors would fall for this ploy.

on: December 11, 2009, 03:50:57 PM 538 Off Topic / Off Topic - Anything / Re: Let's talk guns

Few things give me greater pleasure than winning an argument with liberals and watching them squirm.  The question that shuts them up is :  It's 2am.  You wake up to the sound of a glass window being broken and then you hear the footsteps on the stairs leading to your bedroom and a conversation.   One of your "guests" says:  "Let's rape the bitch".  This is in reference to your wife.  As a liberal, you of course do not have a gun.

Question:  What do you do next and please, don't give any bs about statistics because in less than 5 seconds you are going to become one.  And, skip the 911 nonsense because the line has already been cut and your cell phone is in the kitchen charging.

As O'Reilly would say:  Go!

on: December 11, 2009, 03:16:05 PM 539 General Death Penalty / U.S. Death Penalty Discussion / Re: How far would you go?

I voted witness. To "push the button" for me is revenge.  The state, by law has the responsibility to give punishment. I would witness and pray for the victim, and their family.

I voted witness, too.  But, after watching recently a program about the Carr brothers, I would make an exception and execute both personally.  I will not go into the details what those two did because it is too horrible even for this forum.  It is so bad that even PTO doesn't have anything nice to say about those two animals.  I apologize to all animals:  we, humans, use this phrase occassionally but we mean no disrespect.

In one of my posts dealing with liberals I sarcastically noted that some dr inmates write poetry to keep themselves alive.  The idea being that we should not execute poets.   Well, Reggy Carr, unable to murder and rape any more, writes, you guessed it, poetry!

We are for the death penalty.  But where do you personally draw the line?  How far would you go supporting it?  Here is your chance to be honest with yourself.
