Hello everyone,

Sorry for being away for such a long time. The people who have me on fb might have noticed I started with a new course what is keeping me busy at the moment.
My job takes a lot from me and that together with a hard study keeps me away from a lot of things. But I didn't forgot about any of you.

Hope you are all feeling great.

Regards Miriam

My dearest nan passed away complete unexpected. The neighbours had heard her sing at 11 in the garden and my grandfather came home at 11.15 and found her dead next to their bed.
They were suppose to go to a party that night but her heart just stopped beating.
I'm honestly happy for my nan that she wasn't sick for ages before she died. (She was diagnosted brest cancer 2 years ago but she really did great. Still cycled 40 km a week and gymed)
But for the 5 of us its a big loss. My nan was the glue of our family and we are all torned apart

At 23u lokal time in Holland Vitali Klitschko will defend his WBC heavyweight title against Tomasz Adamek.

I am a huge fan of the Klitschko brothers. I know they aren't really populair in the US but I always wondered why? They are both gentleman. Extremly good boxers.  And for the women they are both not bad looking either in a boxershort.

So is there someone on this board who likes heavyweight boxing and can explain that to me  :)

I'm really 100% anti but with some people I just don't really give a damn if they get excecuted. Of course deep down inside I wished they abolished the dp overall. But with people like Steven Woods and Henderson I wouldn't even blink one second when they get the needle.

Does that make me a shit anti or what am I then  :-[

on: August 16, 2011, 04:21:40 PM 10 Off Topic / Off Topic - Anything / Finally starting to drive (please dont laugh)

But after 10 years I finally started with my driverslessons  :-[  Have been so freaking scared but the reason I now started is because me and my boyfriend have a car. And last year they broke in to my mums home. And they took all her money, card and everything and then those real great people also decided it was necessary to beat and kick her baby cat. And because my grandparents were on holiday there was no way my mum could go to the vet with her cat until my boyfriend came home from work.

So now I'm getting over my fear and started to drive. And it's still scary but I have a really great teacher who is very good to me.

So I hope I'm able to drive before Christmas

My whole life I have been a huge fan of Prince. And he never came to Holland. Then finally last year he came to Holland but because of some reasons we didn't had the money to go to the concert. Tickets were 130 euro so for 2 people that would be 260 euro. Impossible for us.

Then last month we got our taxes back and we were quite lucky. Got a lot more back then expected. And on the same day Prince tickets for his concerts were up for sale for this week. Way cheaper then his previous concert.
So last tuesday my mum, my boyfriend (who is a fan of Prince for 25 years already but never saw him either) and me finally saw Prince

I just wanted to share this cause it really was a wonderfull day   :)

Six shot dead, 11 injured in Alphen aan den Rijn shopping centre

Saturday 09 April 2011

At least six people have been shot dead in a shopping centre in Alphen aan den Rijn by a gunman who sprayed passersby with an automatic weapon.

The shooting happened at the busy Ridderhof centre just after midday. According to media reports, the man ran shooting throught the shopping centre and then shot himself in the head using a different gun.

The gunman is described as white, with long blonde hair and aged about 25. According to one report, he was wearing a bomber jacket and army trousers.

At least 11 people have been injured, four of them very seriously, the town's mayor told a news conference. They have been taken to a number of hospitals in the region.

Panic

'There was a tremendous panic, everyone was running. I saw people lying on the ground,' the owner of a pet shop told Nos television. 'When I saw the gunman, I ran inside and closed the metal shutters.'

Another eyewitness told Nos he had seen a body in the car park where the windows had been shot out of a car.

On April 2, two people were killed and two others injured in another shooting in the town.

Alphen aan den Rijn is a commuter town, midway between The Hague and Amsterdam.

Maybe a very stupid question but is there someone who wants to explain me the appeal system in the US?

I've read something about it but its quite complicated.

Thanks in advance  :-*

on: January 17, 2011, 02:13:54 PM 14 Forum Rules and Information / Introductions / Hellow I shall first introduce myself

I'm Miriam. 28 years old from Holland. All though my father got killed 25 years ago and it totally ripped my family apart i am against the dp. But the person who killed my father has been send to prison for 10 years.
In Holland 1 year means 9 months and with good behaviour he has been in prison for 7 years.  So yes in my opinion that's way to short.

But that I'm against the DP doesn't mean i can't understand that people are pro. I have been reading GrannyD her story and it really broke my heart.

On the other hand, I have been reading for a while (I registered but got refused  :) ) and others people stories did showed me some ways to deal with things I still struggle with.

Well this is my story in short.
