Hello everyone,
Sorry for being away for such a long time. The people who have me on fb might have noticed I started with a new course what is keeping me busy at the moment.
My job takes a lot from me and that together with a hard study keeps me away from a lot of things. But I didn't forgot about any of you.
Hope you are all feeling great.
Regards Miriam

I think rumors are floating around that this site is shutting down, it is not. I am just an absent owner and will continue to be for the coming months.
I moved to florida, my granddaughter was born, I had to baker act my son, I am heading up to new york in 2 weeks for work, just a tremendous load of stressful issues going on at the moment preventing me from being here. I am so sorry but my priorities are that my family is first....
now stop with the rumors.

I have been here for a while reading and listening. I think I should tell a few things about myself so that others may be able to understand my positions. I don’t post often, I really don’t know why. Maybe I am shy—dunno.
I have worked in the public sector for 32 years. I have witnessed or participated in over 75 post-mortem examinations in addition to other work. My first autopsy was a person I knew. That is a tough way to start a new career. I have seen the full array of human depravity and this has molded some of my opinions on the Death Penalty. Also there are two very personal instances in my life I may share someday.
After all these years I have determined in my own mind that prison is for punishment I do not deny nor debate the fact that prison has corrective and redemptive value for some inmates – it clearly does. The deterrent value of prison is obtained when that punishment is viewed by the general public. Prisoners in general population should do public works.
I place a high value on life. I do not wish to inflict unnecessary pain and suffering on anyone, even those condemned to death. For me to be confined to a small cell for even a short period of time would be sheer torment. LWOP would not be an option for me; give me death.
I do think the victim and the victim’s family have the right to expect justice. I pity them and grieve for them. I do feel pity for the condemned inmate and their families; however that does not negate the punishment. The inmate is the cause of their pain.
So there is the problem I have. Murderers should be punished and punished quickly. They can never replace the life that was taken and LWOP is not acceptable to me personally, therefore, death is the only solution.
Well that is a start. I won’t post often but this should be enough for you to gain some insight into my thoughts. Perhaps I can articulate my feelings completely over time.

Today marks 8 years. This scumbag has had 8 years to breath, 8 years to make penpals all over the world, 8 years to appeal his sentence, 8 years to fight for his life, where were Amanda's appeals? Who fought for her life? I so wish the state would issue him a date.

I thought it might be nice to show everyone the place where I have been born and raised. I don't know if any of you ever been in Holland. But I'm almost certain no one ever has been in the tiny village where I come from:
So I hope you all enjoy

As you all can see I spend my whole childhood in and on the water. By boat iceskates and swimming

I'm trying to come back to the site on a regular basis. However, you might notice a difference in my postings, no worries, my stand is still SOLID on the Pro side!
I slipped away from here for the months preceding the Stroman execution, not because I disagreed with it, I supported his punishment completely, however for those who don't know me, I once knew him and even though I support the punishment he received it was a hard reality to know he was really going to die. It's hard for me to explain (I cant even explain it to myself), especially since I had not exchanged communication with him since 2006 my feelings were confusing to me. So I removed myself from the site until it was over.
I've decided that when I am back on here on a regular basis I will not celebrate the death of any one, not even the most vile of criminals. Sometimes our words here do appear as we are celebrating and honestly I don't want any part of that, I would just like to exchange news, opinions and ideas in a respectful manner. I have to remind myself that some of these criminals do have family members and young children or grandchildren and I don't want to lower myself to post things like "rot in hell" and the like for them to possibly see, it is in bad taste and just wrong in my opinion. The punishment they received is death and when executions are carried out their debt to society is paid. I'm going to do my very best to take the high road from now on and if I fall short at times I hope someone here will give me a good kick in the ass to get me back on track.
As for the anti's and the pen pal anti's. There is a difference between the two, a true anti will still view the criminal as a vile human being yet not approve of executing him. A pen pal cuddles up with the vile criminal and blabs to the world what a wonderful human being their thug is. I'm sorry but wonderful human beings do not murder others! To the real anti's here, you have my respect. To the pen pals who might happen upon this site - it's best you leave now because you're not welcome here, my advice to you is seek therapy for whatever is missing in your life that has led you to turn to murdering thugs on death row for friendship.
I hope everyone here can remember why we are here, to post facts, to counter the lies the thughuggers put out there and to remember and support the victims and their families. Most of us are on the same side of the fence and there is no reason we should be fighting with each other - that has to stop and it will stop.
I'm looking forward to meeting all the new members who have joined since I've been gone and I would like to thank the staff here for all of their hard work, you guys truly are the very best!!
Pam
