I have been very lucky with health but a few months ago, noticed a very slight tremor in my left hand. This has got a little worse and I have been diagnosed with early Parkinsons disease. Doc thinks it is slow and likely something else will get me before it gets too bad. Still,    BUGGER.

on: September 15, 2012, 02:40:11 AM 4 Off Topic / Off Topic- News / We just do not learn

Now I am back home from the Monza Grand Prix and a short Italian holiday, it has been time to plough through world news.

UK
A huge child abuse ring has been broken and the criminals jailed. Despite the fact that Social Services and several other authorities were reporting suspected abuse and one of the victims complained to the police, nothing was done for a very long time.

WHY?

The police were concerned about being racist. The animals were, of course, Muslims.

The Arab Spring, so heavily supported by the West now shows its true colours. Attacks on embassies round the world and no doubt the West will just offer appeasement. When will we learn that the Muslin religion, along with their ghastly Mohammed is an insult to free people round the world and should be seen as the number one enemy of civilization?

Are we on Off2DR the only ones with the gumption to call the Muslims for what they really are?

I am just sick to bloody death of bloody guns being eulogised in the USA.

One of my Austin (Texas) grandchildren who is four and shortly now to be an Oz grandchild was in private preschool when another four year old pulled out a hand gun from his stachel and pulled the trigger. Luckily just a hole in the wall (and a toddler with a broken hand) but as far as I am concerned, that is the end of it. This happened a few weeks ago and I have been fuming ever since. My daughter remonstrated with the parents. They replied that they had every right to keep guns. And so they do........ I hope they manage to shoot some of their own kids and get them out of the gene pool.

500 children die from accidental gunshots every year in the USA. Of course, the NRA will say that this is a statistical zero considering the USA population.

Try saying that to the parents of the 500.

A really sad story of an obituary

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense , who has
been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his
birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be
remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;

- Why the early bird gets the worm;

- Life isn't always fair;

- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more
than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing
regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual
harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using
mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student,
only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job
that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to
administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents
when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and
criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar
in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize
that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was
promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his
wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

I Know My Rights

I Want It Now

Someone Else Is To Blame

I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you
still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

So we have all been hearing a lot of what our governments are doing in light of the great depression.

1. Austerity.

Impoverish the People

2. Reform

Curtail the rights of the People

3. Growth

Get profits flowing back into the pockets of the capitalists.

So it seems that most on DR are now claiming the 'Tard Card'. The legislation seems more than daft. One of the most deadly weapons is a car. If the 'tard' was allowed to drive it must have been deemed that they were cognisent of the consequences of driving one. End of story unless authorities are allowing these people to drive no matter what!

on: August 05, 2012, 02:06:54 AM 9 General Death Penalty / Executed Offenders (Graveyard) / Daniel Wayne Cook - AZ- August 08, 2012

FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - A state board has unanimously denied clemency requests for an Arizona inmate facing execution Wednesday for two gruesome murders committed 25 years ago.

The Board of Executive Clemency voted 4-0 Friday against Daniel Wayne Cook's requests to have his death sentence reduced to life in prison or to delay his execution.

Cook was convicted of murdering 26-year-old Carlos Cruz-Ramos and 16-year-old Kevin Swaney in Lake Havasu City in 1987. Trial evidence showed Cruz-Ramos was tortured and that both victims were raped.

Cook's clemency petition said he was molested and beaten as a child and denied expert help to present sentencing evidence.

A federal appeals court ruled that Cook withheld evidence of possible mitigation circumstances. Cook represented himself during his trial.

This execution seems to have slipped by although he is still going for the tard card. Frankly, I don't care if he sucks his thumb or not. I know an EEC member who does the same; mind you, he could also be retarded!

Well it bloody well ought to be!

'Liberté, égalité, fraternité' is the fundamental belief of France....... at least it is supposed to be. It is certainly something I really do believe in. Although from the upper classes, I have had 'socialistic tendencies' most of my life. These days though, I would describe myself as having 'socialistic tendencies'  with an overlay of ultra right wing views on immigration and Muslims in particular, (apart from being a petrolhead)!

Today though, I am displaying, if I dare on this board, my 'socialistic tendencies'.

WHITE COLLAR AND BLUE COLLAR CRIME

It seems remarkable that such a definition actually still exists but it does. A very poor person steals to survive and is given a severe sentence if caught. A 'white collar' person defrauds us for millions and generally he is given a slight 'slap on the wrist'. Hell, if he has fleeced us for mega millions, they may even make a movie about him and of course there is always the book.............. Defence comes up with mitigation plees such as "His reputation is ruined. That is punishment enough" or "He would never be able to survive incarceration". Often as not, the judge listens and sentences accordingly.

Personally, I think white collar crime should exact heavier punishments than blue collar. These people have education and should know better.
