Belgium may be the first European country to ban the full-covering Islamic veils from being worn in public, after a key-parliamentary committee on Wednesday (31 March) voted in favour of the move.

The Belgian parliament's home affairs unanimously backed a proposal to ban the so-called burka and niqab, two forms of the Muslim veil covering the entire body and face. If the law is enacted, women who wear this in public would be fined 15-25 euros and may face a jail sentence of up to seven days.

It will be interesting to see how our domestic liberal women will react.   Will they side with their oppressed sisters or "the religion of peace", that was invented by their owners - sorry, I meant their fathers and husbands - to keep them uneducated, barefoot and obedient.   Isn't Islam fun? 

Either way, Belgium is spot on with this for a simple reason:  Under the equal protection clause, men could start wearing that stuff, too.   Wouldn't it be fun to have a Halloween party like this every day forever?   How about going to your local bank and meeting a dozen guys wearing hoods and long black robes?    Can I have ten grand, please?    Right away, sir!  No, no check will be needed!
