Renny Cushing is the executive director of Murder Victims for Human rights. His father was murdered and he says the death penalty does not help the family.
The Montana Abolition Coalition says 140 people have been sent to death row and later found innocent.Abolitionists do themselves no favours when they keep trotting out this number, how many of that 140 were actually innocent?
Apparently 140 people. The answer is in the statement.
Quote from: Naviator on April 16, 2012, 09:12:19 PMApparently 140 people. The answer is in the statement.Actually very few of those 140 were released due to actual innocence. The large majority were released on procedural errors, prosecutors dropping charges on retrial for various reasons, resentenced to LWOP on retrial, etc. If you wish I will find the report, which I had previously posted somewhere on this site, which actually broke down the 140 into the reasons each was removed from DR.
