Inmates want identity of Missouri death row executioners revealed

Associated Press - January 21, 2008 2:33 AM ET

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Five Missouri death row inmates want the state to identify members of its execution team following a newspaper report that revealed an execution nurse was once accused of stalking.

Lawyers for the inmates say the disclosure raises questions about the nurse's "temperament and suitability" to help with executions. State officials knew about the nurse's background. The lawyers say that calls screening procedures into question.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch named the nurse in a story last week despite a new Missouri law that prohibits knowingly disclosing the identity of a current or former execution team member. The law also makes it easier for team members to seek civil damages if their names are exposed.

The law was passed after the paper identified a doctor who measured lethal drugs but is dyslexic.

The newspaper claims the new law is unconstitutional.

Anyone have any further info on this one?

Sue the reporter, put him in jail and fine the hell out of him for breaking the law.  Put the reporter in jail with the other law breakers and see how he much sympathy he still has for them and he gets to know them one on one.
" Closure? Closure is a misused word in the English language.  There is no such thing as closure for the family of a murder victim.  There will never be any closure for the death of our loved ones until we are dead ourselves.  The families have a lifetime sentence of anguish and sadness."
Susan Levy

well then they would need new execution teams all the time cuz they would get snuffed in revenge killings on a regular basis ... and the killers would get snuffed by the new execution team then .. work would never be short ..

Well Mo, this is a good way to solve the problem with the overcrowded earth...  ;)  ;D

I´m not sure if there´s a hell, but I believe in executed murderers.

Hahahahahaha. Good one, Michael. Every time someone gets executed, let's kill the executioners too. ;)
