Victims:Pearl Harbor Veteran James Sementelli, 83 years old

The Crime: Shonda Walter bludgeoned 83 year old Pearl Harbor Veteran James Sementelli with a 10-inch hatchet 66 times and denied his pleas for help before leaving him to die in March of 2003. 25-year-old Walter carried out the attack because she wanted to join a gang, and one of the initiation requirements was to commit a crime. She also stole $500 in quarters from the veteran and drove away in his Toyota Camry.
